One Chord To Another www.onechord.net Melodramatic pop music from Kouvola. It's almost ten years from Going Public's (Timo Ranta's previous band) great album Hooligan, but one thing haven't changed. I still adore his voice. So it's really great to hear it again on a full-length album. There's been a demo ep and vinyl single on Rhythm Barrel in between, but those weren't enough. Heartbreak Satellites has plenty of great songs. Beautiful duet Running Out Of Angels that features Suffeli (Thee Ultra Bimboos) on female vocals and T. Nikki on slideguitar is one of the highlights. Country-tinged Sugarhigh and the beautiful ending My Days of Hollow are great treats for people who are into thoughtfully arranged and emotionally deep music. Somehow those moodier pieces are the ones that I like the most eventhough there's nothing wront with the pop/rock songs either. Room Full Of Lies has a great 80's pop feeling, Electric Blue (familiar from the earlier rhythm barrel single) lyrics say that "I wrote a killer song for you" and that's what it is. Not exactly the kind of music I listen all the time, but it's still quite impossible to resist it. A great album to put on once I've had enough of that cute indiepop I listen way too much. 4/5 Heartbreak Satellites
